Judges have tremendous power in the State of Texas to determine where children will live and with whom, where they will go to school, and the parents' visitation schedules. Judges also have significant authority in dividing the marital estate.

I believe the parties are most always better making those decisions themselves. While there is no "magic option" where everyone gets everything they want, the court does not have that option either. Often one of the parties, or both, are disappointed. Some relationships never heal from a bitter adversarial proceeding. Working with good counsel, I strive to help the parties come up with a fair division and a solution that is in the best interest of the children.
